This bibliography pretends to be a contribution to the study of Peruvian reality in a very important aspect: its stratification; its conformation in classes, castes, groups and social strata.

This bibliography is a derived product of the research “Political Ideology and Labor Movements” (first phase: anarchism in Peru), in process at the Center Of Research of University of Pacífico. The figure and work of Manuel González Prada (1848-1918) in the context of the previous research is of vital importance. For that reason we offer this little work, with the intention to collaborate with future research about the subject. This bibliography tries to cover, in the most exhaustive manner possible; the publications appeared in English and Spanish until April 1972.

Survey of important Peruvian academics about the role of social sciences and historians in the socio-political present of the country.

This is a brief and first attempt of analysis and presentation of some Peruvian journals of this century; we’ll focus on culture, literature and social sciences, trying to answer, among others, the following questions: under which circumstances and with which characteristics do they appear? What position do they take against the dominant ideology? Do they adopt consciously a political posture? The important books of the Peruvian 20th century have deserved comments, exegesis and criticism; journals, in return, had a relative lower echo and, once discontinued, have passed generally to oblivion.

Los países europeos que en uno u otro momento han manifestado interés en el estudio de diversos aspectos de la realidad latinoamericana (España, Francia, Inglaterra, Alemania), lo han hecho, en líneas generales, a partir de una ligazón económica que los ha visto colocados en una situación de privilegio. Otro tanto se puede decir también, claro está, de Estados Unidos.
