The purpose of this work was to identify the insects associated with aguaymanto in the location of CerroPunta. For this, three random samplings were carried out, choosing seven plants per sampling, fromwhich photographs were taken and specimens were collected, for later identification and diagnosis. Accordingto the results, respect to the phytophages, Antianthe expansa(Membracidae)was the most abundantspecies, followed by Oncopeltus sp. (Lygaeidae), Euschistus heros (Pentatomidae) and Epitrix sp.(Chrysomelidae). In case of predators, Zelus longipes, Z. renardii (Reduviidae) and Polybia sp. (Vespidae)were important; whereas in parasitoids, Enicospilus sp. (Ichneumonidae) and Pompilidae waspswere the most frequent. Apis mellifera (Apidae), was the main pollinator species, found in all plants andin all samples. In conclusion, there are at least 38 taxa associated with golden berry in Cerro ...

This research presents the species of the genus Argiope Audouin, 1827 (Araneae: Araneidae), found in agricultural and urban areas from Chiriqui, Panama. To do this, since August until November 2020, the locations of David, Alanje, Bugaba, Paso Ancho and Cerro Punta were visited. Random samplings were carried out both in crops and in surrounding vegetation, searching for Argiope specimens, also keeping a photographic record and georeferencing. Arachnids were reviewed in the laboratory for their identification, supported by specialized literature. According to the results, the species Argiope argentata (Fabricius, 1775), was present in the five locations visited; while Argiope trifasciata (Forskal, 1775) was only found in Paso Ancho, Tierras Altas District. Although the genus may be considered cosmopolitan and widely distributed in America, the predominance of A. argentata suggests that it...

Root-knot nematodes (RKNs) are classified under the genus Meloidogyne and are among the most devastating pests affecting strategical agricultural crops. They attack a wide variety of plant species, including vegetables, fruit trees and ornamental plants, causing root deformities and even lead to plant death in severe cases of infestation. These nematodes contribute to substantial crop yield loss and affect the quality of harvested products. Although synthetic nematicides are available for the control of these pest organisms, there is a growing emphasis on exploring sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives, such as nematophagous fungi like the genera Purpureocillium, Arthrobotrys, Dactylellina, Orbilia, and Trichoderma, among others. Here a review of literature on the matter is given, with a focus on the taxonomic classification of the most relevant fungal orders and genera, their diagno...
