The objective of the present study was to establish the relationship of maternal parental style in the academic performance in the areas of communication and mathematics of the students of the V Cycle of primary school of the Educational Institution Nº 6010274. The type of study is descriptive with a quantitative approach, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational design. The population consisted of 100 students of the fifth cycle and the same number of mothers. As the sample was the total population, non-probabilistic sampling was used. The survey technique and documentary analysis were applied; the questionnaire and the registration form were used as instruments.
