The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between reading strategies and text comprehension in first year secondary school students of the Centro Rural de Formación en Alternancia N° 625229, District of Barranca, Datem del Marañón Province, 2024. Opting for a study of basic type, correlational level and non-experimental cross-sectional design whose sample consisted of 68 students to whom two questionnaires were applied for data collection. The findings show that with respect to reading strategies, 42.65% of the students present a regular level in the use of reading strategies, followed by 38.23% with a deficient level, and only 19.12% reach an efficient level. On text comprehension, 38.2% of students are at the expected level of achievement, 35.3% are in the process, and only 26.5% reach a satisfactory level.
