Our research is committed to an approach from memory to understand the causes and consequences of armed conflict. The memory variable will allow us to determine the organization and interpretation at the level of history and discourse in Retablo. From 1997 to 2014, the Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal, through its university publishing fund, promoted literary competitions in poetry and short stories in native languages, which allowed the visibility of Quechua writers from all regions of Peru (Ancash, Ayacucho, Cerro de Pasco, Cusco, Huancavelica, Trujillo, Lima). Thus, the Federico Villarreal National Quechua Literature Competition was launched and, almost immediately, the winning books were published in the Biblioteca de Cultura Quechua Contemporánea (Library of Contemporary Quechua Culture). Plantea que Retablo de Julián Pérez Huarancca representa la memoria que se opone al desgaste, borradura del recuerdo y opacidades de la representación e indiferencia del discurso oficial o memoria institucional. Así se comprende la presencia de dos actos con la memoria: 1) en la novela se recrea la memoria crítica dentro del texto ficcional como vehículo de expresión o canal simbólico que denuncia y expone las luchas y los conflictos de la memoria sobre los acontecimientos de violencia social, histórica y política desatados en Ayacucho; y 2) es a la vez, una crítica a la memoria hegemónica y homogénea a través de la representación en el retablo textual que mira el pasado de la violencia política para exponerla.
