Dear editor,After having read with interest the article "Factors associated with the level of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding in first-time mothers attended by Teleconsulta - Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal in 2020" by Vizquerra-Guevara P, et al. published in Volume 10 number 1 of the Peruvian Journal of Maternal Perinatal Research, which I consider a highly relevant study in the field of Obstetrics, especially in the field of Maternal Education; and taking into account that in 2019, according to ENDES, 65.6% of girls and boys under six months of age were breastfed1; I would like to outline some aspects that should be considered for further study.According to WHO and UNICEF, the ten steps towards happy breastfeeding (2018 revision), step 3 of prenatal information must be met - Explain to pregnant women and their families the importance of breastfeeding and its practice2 Curr...

Cesarean scar pregnancy is occurring more frequently due to the worldwide increase in cesarean sections. It is a rare ectopic pregnancy associated with potentially serious complications. The objective was to raise awareness about cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) in a public hospital in Lima, Peru. A 34-year-old woman with G4: P3013, 7 weeks of amenorrhea, had an obstetric history of three cesarean sections and one miscarriage. Transvaginal ultrasound revealed a gestational sac with a yolk sac and no embryo attached to the cesarean scar, protruding into the bladder, thinned residual myometrium, and vascularization around the gestational sac. This met the diagnostic criteria for CSP Type I. Initial treatment was medical, followed by a planned laparoscopic hysterectomy. INTRODUCTION: Vulvar lichen sclerosus is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with a clear predilection for the anogenital region that is commonly underdiagnosed; It is the most common vulvar dermatosis associated with pruritus. OBJECTIVE: To report a clinical case of a patient with vulvar lichen sclerosus. CLINICAL CASE: 51-year-old quechua-speaking patient treated for vulvar itching of two years' duration. On clinical examination, a wrinkled hypopigmented plaque was found covering the vulva, the perineal body, the perianal area and the labia minora were adhered, defining a 5mm excoriative lesion in the vulvar fork. The diagnosis was clinical and confirmed with histopathology. Local corticosteroids were administered and the patient progressed with substantial improvement.
