This thesis titled "Simulation of the National Economy through a High-Performance Scientific Computing Model" exposes the use of a computer model based on the cloud computing paradigm for the simulation of systems specifically for the national economy using the General Economic Balance Model. The thesis raises the technological response to the growing need for higher performance and computational speed in the simulation of increasingly complex problems such as models that are formulated through numerical methods in science, engineering and economics. The formulated economic model has been implemented in MATLAB® and runs on the high-performance computing platform of Microsoft Azure allowing simulating the macroeconomic behavior of the variables that make up the model.
