The objective of this research is to analyze the performance of microfinance institutions-IMF Peruvian in the run time and during the 2008- 2009 global financial crisis, and identify the determinants of lending rates of MFIs. The central hypothesis is that the performance of microfinance institutions is associated with economic conditions in the country and the international capital market. The other hypothesis is that the difference in rates between MFI lending interest is primarily associated administrative costs paid, the scale of loans, labor productivity, self-financing and credit experience. El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar los determinantes del coste del crédito en las instituciones de microfinanzas-IMFs peruanas durante el período 1994-2015. Su alcance permitió identificar el impacto de factores microeconómicos y macroeconómicos en el coste del crédito en cuatro escenarios: 1994-2016. 1995-2015, 1998-2016 y 2009-2016, en función de la información disponible por grupos de IMF. Para tal efecto, el procedimiento aplicado se llevó a cabo en dos etapas: un análisis descriptivo de desempeño de las IMF durante el período 1994-2016 y luego un análisis explicativo con base enpça regresión múltiple con datos de panel, y cuyas fuentes principales de información fueron la Superintendencia de Banca y Seguros, y el Banco Central de Reserva del Perú.
