The objective of this work is to validate the precipitation forecasts simulated with the Brazilian Regional Atmospheric Modelling Systems (BRAMS) numerical model in its version 5.3, for the La Libertad Region in Peru; this region of Peru has 80% of its land located in the northern highlands of Peru. In mountainous areas, precipitation is strongly influenced by the height of the terrain, a poor representation of the topographic elevations and depressions of the terrain can lead to an erroneous representation of the resolvable phenomena explicit by the model. Taking into account this characteristic of the study area, in the first instance the BRAMS model was configured to adequately represent the rugged orography of the local área at a horizontal resolution of 10 km. En el presente trabajo de tesis se investiga el siguiente problema ¿Cómo es la gestión de desastres en la comunidad educativa de la cuenca del rio Mapacho de la provincia de Paucartambo? La muestra se ha aplicado a un total de 38 personas entre los actores educativos como es directores, docentes de aula y estudiantes, los cuales fueron seleccionados por muestreo al azar a quienes se aplicó cuestionarios para medir las variables de estudio. Los resultados fueron analizados en el nivel descriptivo a través de frecuencias y barras, para medir las variables estudiadas, se ha hecho el uso de la estadística. En la cual se puede comprobar que la comunidad educativa del rio Mapacho tiene conocimiento y priorizan la gestión de riesgo de desastres y consideran la carencia de capacitaciones en este tema por parte de las instancias pertinentes.
