El hipoclorito de sodio (NaOCl) es el irrigante más utilizado en endodoncia, pero sus efectos irritantes han motivado la búsqueda de alternativas naturales, como el extracto acuoso de Allium sativum (ajo), conocido por su actividad antibacteriana atribuida a la alicina y compuestos sulfurados. En el presente estudio experimental se evaluó in vitro el efecto antibacteriano del extracto de ajo en distintas concentraciones (25%, 50%, 75% y 100%) frente a Enterococcus faecalis mediante la técnica de difusión en agar. Los resultados evidenciaron que el extracto al 100% presentó el mayor halo de inhibición, superando al NaOCl al 2,5%, mientras que las concentraciones del 75% y el NaOCl mostraron efectos similares sin diferencias significativas. Sign language is the main means of communication for deaf people; consists of the combination of manual, body and facial movements with specific meanings. Among the main barriers faced by this community are the lack of communication, shortage of health services, added to the inexperience and lack of knowledge of sign language by the health professional. This article aims to raise awareness of the importance and need of sign language in dental clinical care and professional training, as well as strategies, tools and recommendations for better care for deaf people.
