Los teléfonos móviles hacen parte de las nuevas tecnologías de la información y su uso excesivo puede estar asociado a la presencia de nomofobia, la cual se define como el miedo irracional que muestran las personas por no utilizar de manera permanente su teléfono móvil, adoptando diversos temores al no recibir ni emitir mensajes o simplemente por no estar en alguna aplicación o red social. El estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar las implicaciones de la nomofobia en la salud mental de los estudiantes universitarios con relación al uso problemático del teléfono móvil mediante la revisión científica de la bibliografía. La investigación de revisión de la literatura se basó en los lineamientos PRISMA, con búsquedas realizadas en Google Académico, Scopus, EBSCOhost, ProQuest, Dialnet y Redalyc.
