The general objective of this study was to examine the degree of knowledge about play in the teaching of early education teachers in kindergarten institutions located in the Punchana district, specifically in the Nanay area in the city of Iquitos. A sample of 110 early education teachers was included in the study. The study determined in its results that 92% of the teachers surveyed have a medium level of knowledge about free play in the sectors. The high level of knowledge was reached by only 7% of the participants, in contrast to 1% who were at a low level. In relation to understanding the cognitive aspect of the game, it is observed that 75% of teachers have a medium level of knowledge. In the area of knowledge of the socio-emotional aspect, 74% of the teachers surveyed show a medium level, while 21% have a high level and the remaining 5% show a low level in this area.
