La autofagia es un proceso homeostático fundamental para degradar y reciclar los componentes celulares. Este proceso tiene un rol crítico, ya que su desregulación contribuye al desarrollo de diversas enfermedades y, entre ellas, la obesidad. Estudios previos in vitro e in vivo muestran que la inhibición de la autofagia en neuronas hipotalámicas promueve además de alteraciones metabólicas asociadas a la obesidad, disminución de la señalización de insulina y de los niveles transcripcionales de Pomc (pro-opiomelanocortina) en el hipotálamo. Además, hemos observado que en ratones alimentados crónicamente con una dieta alta en grasa y en cultivos de neuronas hipotalámicas expuestos a ácido palmítico, el flujo autofágico se encuentra bloqueado y la sensibilidad a insulina se encuentra disminuida. Microfinance is a tool to solve problems of the limited access to finance services among low-income earners and thereby promote inclusion. It is important that entities offering such services are sustainable, both currently and into the future. Today some microfinance institutions believe that the way to obtain better financial results and to reach poor clients is through regulation. This paper has investigated the factors that determine sustainability (measured byself-sufficiency) and the extent to which regulation matters. Microfinance also has a social objective, and we seek to determine whether the interest variable influences performance. Using a simple theoretical model, we offer a method to analyze the financial and social objectives.
