La violencia contra la mujer y sobre todo contra la mujer aymara en la ciudad del Altiplano, específicamente en la ciudad de Puno, es un tema que angustia, inquieta, crea rechazos y negaciones, al mismo tiempo de que para la organización mundial de la salud es un problema emergente en salud pública, el cual genera en la población en general un necesario análisis multidisciplinario que incluye la participación de profesionales de la salud (médicos legistas, técnicos necropsiadores, odontólogos forenses, asistentas sociales) y del derecho (fiscales penales, civiles, de familia, así como de los asistentes en función fiscal), sobre todo en los casos en que las víctimas con lesiones físicas hayan denunciado el hecho ante las autoridades.
