High-level noise can represent a serious risk for the health, industrial operations often represent continuous exposure to noise, thus an important trouble to handle. An alternative of solution can be the use of passive mechanisms of noise reductions, nonetheless its application cannot diminish low-frequency noise. Active Noise Control (ANC) is the solution used for low-frequency noise, ANC systems work according to the superposition principle generating a secondary anti-noise signal to reduce both. Nevertheless, the generation of an anti-noise signal with same oppose characteristics of the original noise signal presupposes the utilization of special techniques such as adaptive algorithms. These algorithms involve computational costs. The present research present the optimization of a specific ANC algorithm in the step-size criteria. Delayed Filtered-x LMS (FxLMS) algorithm using an opti...

The Internet of Things is a digital interconnection between everyday objects and the Internet, which is generally used to improve comfort in daily tasks and optimize business. Thus, it can be integrated into the health world to give it medical applications, being one of the typical application scenarios of the telemedicine service, such as remote medical care. In this way, this article describes the development of a monitoring system for vital signs: pulse, temperature, and oxygen saturation in the blood, which is based on the comparison and selection of components through the research methodology, and its validation through statistical analysis. This monitoring system seeks to be used in the care of patients with home treatments as a compact and low-cost system to provide timely medical information and implement future Cloud Computing and Internet of Things technologies to perform remot...

This article presents the design and implementation of a 12 V to 40,99 V DC/DC boost converter using PID control, with the aim of providing an efficient solution for harnessing recovered energy in a regenerative braking system. In the first stage, the uncontrolled circuit was designed using Simulink and PSIM software. Subsequently, a prototype of the controlled circuit was implemented using PID control to correct the output signal. Once the prototype’s functionality was validated in the Proteus simulator, the physical implementation was carried out. This phase included the design of the tracks in Eagle software, the modeling of the board in Autodesk Fusion, and the manual fabrication of the circuit. The use of PID control allowed for an average output voltage of 40,99 V, a similar RMS value, and a peak-to-peak ripple voltage of 2,40 V. Although the maximum estimated in the simulations ...
