Introduction. The identification and treatment of patients with hyperkalemia is necessary to prevent the development of arrhythmias. Pseudohyperkalemia is most commonly due to specimen haemolysis and is often recognised by laboratory scientists who subsequently report test results with cautionary warnings. The authors present a case of pseudohyperkalemia in a patient with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. Report case: the technical factors and method of transport are a potential cause of pseudohyperkalemia. Pseudohyperkalemia has been associated with hyperleukoctosis, in cancer patient populations, more commonly in CLL in adults, but also acute lymphoblastics leukemia in children. This places the patient at risk of unnecessary and potentially dangerous treatments. Introduction: Scientific research during basic courses in medical schools is facing a crisis, not only because of the low number of research projects, but also for the lack of quality in research proposals. Doing research is the basis for becoming a good physician, and it must be taken not only as a mandatory tool for obtaining more knowledge, but it also should be recognized that research is a very valuable tool in the formation of physicians with high academic level.Objective: To determine knowledge, attitudes and practices towards doing research in pre-graduate students from Peruvian medical schools. Introduction: the quality of life related to health is perhaps one of the most objective measure of health. Provides a more comprehensive, integral and valid health status. Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess the perception of Health-Related Quality of Life in elderly adults living in Chiclayo, and to identify the epidemiological characteristics related with such perception. Methods: A cluster sampling method was used, 400 subjects were interviewed using 2 instruments, a social and epidemiological form and a quality of life questionnaire based on the SF-36 Health Survey, and the variables assessed were as follows: physical functioning, physical role, body pain, general health, vitality, social functioning, emotional role, and mental health.
