Objective: To analyze the state of the art of the determinants of academic satisfaction in health sciences students. Method: A bibliographic review of scientific articles on determinants of academic satisfaction in health sciences students, published between 2014 and 2024, was conducted, taking into account the methodological protocols suggested for the bibliographic review. The strategy for the search incorporated the use of the databases: PubMed, SciELO, ScienceDirect, Scopus, Web of Science and Boolean operators for the combination of descriptors. A total of 133 articles were identified and reviewed, of which 19 articles were useful. Results: There are four determinants of academic satisfaction: personal, institutional, academic and clinical-professional practice. Febrile neutropenia in cancer patients is an oncologic emergency, due to immunosuppression that leaves the patient vulnerable to bacterial, fungal and viral infections that put his life at risk.
