El Callao es el primer puerto del Perú, eventualmente recordado por su mala fama, y no por el gran valor histórico y de patrimonio cultural que posee. La Dirección Desconcentrada de Cultura (DDC) del Callao, órgano del Ministerio de Cultura del Perú, para celebrar sus 30 años de creación, con el fin de cambiar dicha imagen y potenciar el espacio cultural en el Callao, ha publicado este libro, donde se detalla una propuesta política-cultural cuyo objetivo es la defensa, protección y promoción de la herencia cultural chalaca.

The Historic Center of Bellavista, designed by Luis Godín in 1746, is in a process of degradation that has been occurring for several decades due to various factors such as abandonment, deterioration, change of land uses, demolitions, among others. The urban layout of the historic Bellavista, which encloses colonial and republican architecture within it, with the passage of time begins to disappear distorting the urban image that has great historical value for both the history of Callao and the history of Lima.
