This article deals with the presentation made by Leon Chestov of Kierkegaard’s thought about original sin, in which itis possible to appreciate a conflict with speculative philosophy, circled initially in Socrates and then in Hegel, and from which Kierkegaard intends to flee. The successive failures of this “escape” Chestov says, have to be understood as the other Kierkegaard conflict: it inability to accede to faith.
