Peruvian educational authorities have been implementing a bilingual intercultural program for several decades in our country. one of the various actions they have under taken is concerned with the preparation of materials for the teaching of spanish as a second language. the objective of this study is to find out what the leading ideas of this material are with respect to methodological approach and teaching strategies. the study will also allow us to reflect on the relationship between materials and educational reality, particularly having in mind the characteristics of students and the development of teachers and the contexts in which they are immersed.

El estudio tiene como objetivo conocer el control de la escritura que se puede alcanzar en el sexto grado de educación básica en la educación estatal de nuestro país. A partir de un enfoque que considera ciertas fases que se cumplen al escribir, tratamos de determinar si los alumnos alcanzan logros en las etapas de tomar dictado, construir una oración en la que se proporciona información, y contar por escrito historias basadas en un tema que les es familiar. Los datos recogidos muestran que hay escuelas estatales cuyo trabajo permite al estudiante avanzar en las etapas mencionadas. El conocimiento obtenido puede ser un aporte a la planificación de los cursos de lenguaje, no solo de lengua materna sino también de segunda lengua.

Reflecting on the way we have been working in the language line at school, we teachers have a series of questions about different proposals for change in our teaching practice. In this opportunity, we are going to refer to one aspect of the aforementioned line, the second language (L2) component in intercultural bilingual education. And within this line, the possibility of using the L2 in projects that students will develop in their educational practice.

Teachers know that when programming the studies to be carried out in an educational institution, it is necessary to start from a diagnosis, which must be updated periodically. Although this includes a series of variables, the emphasis in the investigation of these variables may vary. In this case, and thinking that we lack greater knowledge about one of them, a study has been carried out at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in order to better understand the way undergraduate university students think about learning modern languages other than Spanish.

Students preparing to teach English need to understand the relationship between language and culture in order to avoid the misinterpretations that can arise when one is only guided by knowledge of the linguistic code when using the language. One aspect to consider when preparing English language teachers is their perception of the messages in English language teaching texts. In this essay we review examples of the perceptions of undergraduate students of Education at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, in relation to aspects of the way of life in English-speaking countries.

The study explores aspects of the syntactic development of the written mother tongue of sixth grade primary students in national schools in Lima. This paper focuses on the occurrence of subordinate constructions in narrative texts produced by the students. Even though there is not yet a control of punctuation to separate sentences, it is possible to identify types of subordinating constructions. Among the most frequent, it is possible to see adverbial ones, especially those dealing with cause and time. The next more frequent are those that function as direct object. Concerning the control of the linguistic constructions mentioned before, one can observe that the majority of students that produce them handle them in an acceptable way. The study focuses on the conception the Academic Professional Schools of San Marcos University and the teachers of foreign languages have of English courses at the undergraduate level. The sources used include documents from the Schools and ideas expressed, through interviews, by the authorities. The influence of globalization in the implementing of English is present for some fields of specialization. The findings of the study show, on the one hand, the usefulness English has for the students in the Schools and, on the other, the relationship between Schools expectations and English teachers' ideas. Something outstanding is the concern Heads of Schools have to help students develop this necessary, ability for a professional of the XXI century: the control of the English language.

Innovations can present difficulties for teachers who are new to their use. In second language teaching, this is often the case when trying to implement a communicative approach and methodology. The author attempts some clarifications on the background of this approach, and focuses on one of its teaching strategies, the so-called communicative task.
