The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of supplementation with oregano essential oil in the quail diet on the performance and oxidative stability of the egg. A total of 300 quail, 110 days old, were distributed in five groups: Control (diet without supplementation), E&C (diet plus 0.01% enramycin and 0.025% colistin sulfate) and treatments A, B and C (diets supplemented with 100, 150 and 200 mg/kg of oregano essential oil, respectively). The study was carried out for 12 weeks. The oxidative stability of the egg yolk was evaluated on days 0, 7 and 15 of storage. The results showed that dietary supplementation with essential oil of oregano improved productive parameters compared to control (p<0.05), although it was surpassed by E&C. Group A (100 mg/kg) decreased lipid peroxidation in egg yolk on days 0 ...

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of dietary oregano essential oil (OEO) at performance and oxidative stability; were evaluated 240 quails of 110 days old were divided into 4 groups. One of the groups was given the control diet with antibiotics (0.01% enramycin and 0.025% colistin sulfate) and other groups with 100, 150 and 200 mg/kg levels of supplementation of oregano essential oil supplements for 12 weeks. Quail performance and the oxidative stability of egg yolk with 0, 7 and 15 days of storage were determined. The results show that the diet supplemented with OEO 200 mg/kg exerts positive effects on feed intake in quail (p < 0.05), the control diet and the OEO diet 200 mg / kg were higher in egg production and feed conversion (p < 0.01), referring to egg weight and egg mass, no statistical differences were found (p > 0.05), finally the OEO diet 200 mg / kg obtained...

The present study evaluated the effect of supplementation with oregano essential oil (OEO) on the productive parameters, oxidative stability, and lipid parameters of turkey meat. Eighty 1-d-old male turkeys were randomly distributed into four treatments groups and fed the following diets for 105 d: control diet without any supplementation or supplementation with 300 mg/kg lincomycin and spectinomycin, 100 mg/kg OEO, or 200 mg/kg OEO. Supplementation with 200 mg/kg OEO obtained the best body weight, average daily gain, feed conversion, and the lowest feed intake with respect to the other diets (p < 0.001), while 100 mg/kg OEO had the best oxidative stability (p < 0.001). Though OEO had no hypocholesterolemic effect, 200 mg/kg OEO produced the lowest concentration of triglycerides in the blood (p < 0.05). In conclusion, OEO supplementation improves productive parameters and increa...

Diets supplemented with halquinol and/or nanoencapsulated essential oils (N-EOs) have shown positive effects on the productive parameters of broiler chickens. However, there is limited comparative evidence between these two products. This study aimed to investigate and compare the efficacy of N-EOs blends with halquinol as dietary supplements for broiler chickens. A total of 500 male Cobb 500 broiler chickens were randomly assigned to five dietary groups. The control group received a conventional diet supplemented with halquinol (60%), while the experimental groups received supplementation with N-EOs blends derived from soursop (S), lemon (L), and eucalyptus (E) in different proportions: T1 (S:33.33%, L:33.33%, E:33.33%), T2 (S:50%, L:25%, E:25%), T3 (S:25%, L:50%, E:25%), and T4 (S:25%, L:25%, E:50%). The trial lasted for 42 days. The results showed that the T1 and T4 groups obtained th...
