El presente estudio se realizó en el ámbito político administrativo del distrito de El Porvenir, ubicado en la provincia y departamento de San Martín; tiene como objetivo identificar y cuantificar el uso actual y conflictos del uso de las tierras, así como analizar procesar, cuantificar e interpretar las imágenes de satélite de alta resolución Rapid Eye del 2011-2012, a una escala de 1/25 000 a través de la clasificación supervisada para identificar los patrones de uso actual de las tierras, que representan las actividades económicas.
