Classical liberalism in Peru is a poorly addressed topic in the social sciences and in history. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to compare the figures of two liberal references, both from the 20th century and the 21st century: Pedro Beltrán and MVLL. By analyzing both figures we can see how Beltrán promoted classical liberal ideas through the newspaper La Prensa, seeking to defend economic liberalization and the construction of accessible housing to prevent the spread of barriadas. While, in the case of Vargas Llosa, he sought to defend his liberal ideals through his International Foundation for Freedom along with his opinion columns and a book called La llamada de la Tribu, focusing more on politics. Without a doubt, both characters have promoted various liberal ideas that are still in the process of consolidation in the country.

Liberalism has always had its proponents, not only in the realm of ideological thought but also in popular culture. One of its most recognized representatives worldwide is Wonder Woman. This comic book character has always represented classic liberal values, such as the development of a personal life plan without the necessary intervention of a third party. In this episode, we’llanalyze the comics written by Tom King from the Dawn of DC series. In it, we’ll address the conflict between the superheroine and the well-known villain The Sovereign, a figure who champions conservative ideas. In this sense, we can see how the conflict between these two fictional characters reflects the current ideological struggle that exists in contemporary politics betweenliberals and conservatives.

Fernando Belaúnde Terry, who was twice president of the republic in 1963-1968 and 1980-1985, is considered by Peruvian historiography as a statesman and example to follow. However, the purpose of this article is to move away from the legend of a president who sought the country's industrialization and focuses on the figure of the man with all his successes and errors. Among the latter are: the massacre of the indigenous community in Matses in 1964; the burning of books in 1967 and the violent handling by the State during the beginning of the Internal Armed Conflict. These errors as some call them are truly crimes and must be recorded. For this reason, to know the two versions of the character, we will begin by making a short biography of the former president and then address his crimes. We will end by contrasting this profile with the idea we have of Belaúnde Terry in the vast bi...
