The present study is an epidemiological, prospective study. Analytical cross-sectional, was conducted to identify risk factors associated with acute diarrheal disease (ADD) in children under five years of the Housing Partnership San Marcelo de Tarapoto in the month of March 2003. The study population consisted of 77 children, 13 of whom had EOA who formed the study group (SG) and 66 without EDA formed the control group (CG), which made them an incidence of 16.9%. For children under five years constituted a risk factor in intradomicilliary sanitation (p <0.05): Collection, use and conservation of Inadequate water (RR = 6.86); poor personal hygiene LRR = 12.95); Improper food handling (RR = 2.44) and excreta disposal (RR = 6.25).
