El presente trabajo parte de la idea de Ildefonso Cerdà de hacer de la urbanística una ciencia y trata de dar las primeras luces para contribuir a ella: la identificación de patrones urbanos y la automatización de estos hasta su diagnóstico. Para esto, el trabajo parte de un argumento tripartito: el argumento histórico, argumento gráfico y el argumento textual. Por un lado, el común hilo de estos argumentos es que todos son analizados con ayuda de la automatización. Por otro lado, la identificación de patrones en esos tres argumentos es vital para poder automatizar y, en palabras sencillas, determinar un criterio de aprendizaje de un ente automático. Las tres partes pueden leerse seguidas o de modo independiente.
