The article proposes to approach the second novel of The silent war cycle by Manuel Scorza, formulating the hypothesis of a fictional fiction based on real events, but also thought as a cinematographic fiction. The relationship between fictional fiction and cinematographic fiction is notable in the writing of Garabombo, el invisible and opens up new narrative perspectives for the other novels of an epic cycle whose objective is the future memorization of the heroes in the collective memory.

El artículo propone una interpretación de la novela de Gonzalo Portals Zubiate El predominio de la fe (2020), que imagina el destino del cuadro del Caravaggio La muerte de la Virgen (1605-1606). Basada en una documentación precisa que demuestra un perfecto conocimiento de la vida y la obra del pintor, la ficción novelesca explora los tiempos y atraviesa los espacios geográficos y sociales, desde las clases más bajas de la sociedad hasta las élites del arte y del poder. Esta apertura, que cobra a veces un carácter fantástico, se acompaña de un continuo discurso edificante sobre el arte, sobre su función humana y su profunda relación con el dolor.

The classification of “The Silent War” series (1970-1979) as “pro-indigenous literature” led to the epic nature of Manuel Scorza’s novels being overlooked, together with the complexity and richness of a literature that employs both the narrative device of the chronicle and the path opened by the new novel to explore the disconnects between myth and history. The “Immobile Dance” (1983), the first of a new series of novels entitled “The Fire and the Ash”, would continue to employ the epic form and the new forms of writing, inviting critical reflection on how Latin American literature is received in Europe.

El objeto de estudio es el relato autobiográfico Le lambeau (El colgajo), de 2018, del periodista y escritor Philippe Lançon, superviviente del atentado contra el periódico satírico Charlie Hebdo del 7 de enero de 2015. Cuenta su estancia en el hospital durante los largos meses de operaciones y reconstrucción facial, en los que la escritura le ayudó a aferrarse a la vida. El artículo se centrará en el universo construido por el narrador entre el relato de vida y la ficción literaria, dentro del marco de una reflexión sobre la atención médica y el humanismo, la salud y la cultura.
