Mr. Editor, Cervical cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers in our country. According to the data obtained by Globalcan, a total of 4,636 new cases is described with 1,715 deaths in the year 2012, at the national level (1). Due to the importance of this topic, in June 2017 the new National Guide of clinical practice for the prevention and management of cervical cancer was approved. However, the lack of a preventive approach in women under 30 years of age is notorious. It is commented in this guide that before this age many lesions will never become cancer, so unnecessary treatments would be given, being ineffective in terms of costs (2).
