The purpose of the research was to verify the efficacy of a cognitive behavioral treatment program with a gender perspective in male batterers in the relationship. The sample of 48 men who were reported for violence against their intimate partner, and also were forced to undergo psychological treatment by court order. Most of them were adults, without a history of serious psychopathology, employed, with a history of violence in their family of origin no alcohol consumption problems, half of them with only primary and secondary education. The article is based on the relevance of having a cultural approach to psychological problems that occur nowadays. In that sense, we attempt to analyze what is the impact in a sychological level of some postmodern social phenomena such as anxiety for the happiness as a personal goal (rejection of all kinds of suffering), the huge increment of expectations and the excessive need for control. We do not deny nor underestimate other factors however we stress the importance of these. Likewise, according to the analysis proposed before, we will indicate the necessity in the implementation of Third Generation Behavior Therapy, as a reliable and also wel.researched path inside psychology, with special emphasis in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is one of the most relevant psychotherapies for the treatment of these problems.

This paper’s main purpose was to translate the Violence-Related Attitudes and Beliefs Scale (V-RABS) into Spanish, carry out the appropriate linguistic adjustment, and then assess the psychometric properties of this questionnaire for a sample of 505 degree students aged 16 - 37 (M = 21.48). The the content and the construct validity and reliability were assessed. Results showed that the content of the questionnaire is valid and the factorial structure reproduced the same structure proposed in the original study. Likewise, the internal consistency was acceptable. In light of the obtained results, this translated version into Spanish can be considered valid and reliable for the assessment of attitudes and beliefs about the causes and control of violence and crime.
