The pandemic caused by COVID-19, which has been affecting humanity since March 2020, has forced universities to suspend the development of academic activities within their facilities as a measure to prevent the contagion and spread of the virus. Under these circumstances, the possibility of adapting teaching systems through virtual learning environments (VLE) arose. For this to be successful, the necessary technological resources must be available, and universities, teachers and students must be equipped with the necessary equipment.

Objective. To measure the variation in the indicators of metabolic syndrome and body weight as risk factors of COVID-19, with the application ofstructured low-calorie diets in workers at Universidad de Huánuco. Methods. Quantitative approach, application scope, quasi-experimental designwith a single study group and two measurements, to measure the change in the values of the risk factors of metabolic syndrome. Population: With a population of about 500 workers at Universidad de Huánuco, between 20 and 60 years, the sample was composed of 29 workers with overweight and metabolic syndrome. Results.
