La violencia es un tema muy vivido, hoy en día ya que forma parte de un problema de salud pública, sobre todo por la frecuencia en la que están ocurriendo estos actos violentos; sin embargo, existen formas que nos pueden ayudar a reducir tales riesgos dentro de las relaciones de pareja. La presente investigación tuvo como finalidad determinar la relación entre autoestima, asertividad y violencia en la pareja en estudiantes universitarios. Para ello se eligió un enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental de tipo correlacional – comparativo de corte transversal, en una muestra de 210 participantes de ambos sexos (69.05% mujeres y 30.95% varones), entre 18 a 25 años de una universidad privada de Arequipa Metropolitana.  Dating violence is one of the most serious and complicated situations which does not obey or consider social, economic and educational criteria.
