The article examines the main interpretive trends that have emerged around Artemisia Gentileschi’s La Pittura. It argues that interpretations of this painting have been shaped by two main approaches: one that highlights the artist’s exceptionality and agency, and another that proposes a critical decentralization of that very exceptionality. Through the analysis of these perspectives, the study contends that the painting has become a fertile ground for debate on self-representation, gender, and female agency in Baroque art.

Desde que la expedición polaca “Canoandes” lo difundiera como “el cañón más profundo del mundo” en 1981, el Cañón del Colca se ha consolidado como uno de los destinos turísticos más destacados del sur del Perú. Más de 40 años desde el inicio de estos procesos y bajo su impulso, las dinámicas dentro de la provincia de Caylloma y su capital, Chivay, han atravesado por cambios acelerados, dirigidos hacia la consolidación del lugar como un destino turístico. The following interviews aim to present this year’s theme, “Crisis and Futures of Capitalism: Power, Technology, and Environment.” For this purpose, we spoke with researchers Maritza Paredes and Anke Kaulard. Throughout the interview, key concepts were discussed to understand the environmental issues in current capitalism, such as the notions of “territory,” “territorial conflict,” and “climate justice.” In this approach, the need to understand the territory holistically is emphasized as a social and symbolic production, that is both contested and negotiated by various actors and in which meaning, interdependence with nature, historical processes, social practices, and power relations are inscribed.
