La presente investigación se realizó en las pasturas del fundo ganadero El Manantial, localizado en Tingo María, distrito de Rupa Rupa, provincia de Leoncio Prado, departamento de Huánuco, a una altitud de 660 m.s.n.m., con una precipitación pluvial mensual acumulada de 347,68mm (Enero - Abril 2007), la pastura estudiada fue el Maicillo (Axonopus scoparius Hitch cv.
