Reading comprehension is a competence that can be formally developed in the educational institution. Objective: Implement a workshop-course to assess its effects on reading comprehension, use of strategies and motivation for reading. Method. 13 students from the psychology degree of a Mexican public university participated. Two instruments were applied before and after the intervention to compare the values of the variables studied. The workshopcourse consisted of promoting the use of reading strategies linked to specific levels of understanding: literal, information reorganization, inferential, critical and appreciative. Results. There were increases in reading comprehension, use of strategies and motivation towards reading. The aim of this research was to identify the levels of reading comprehension, the use of strategies and the motivation towards reading, and to relate them to different sociodemographic and academic variables, in students of the Biology career of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Campus Iztacala. Fifty-four students participated and were remotely applied the Instrument for Assessing Reading Comprehension in University Students, the Inventory of Metacognitive Strategies and Reading Motivation and a self-report to measure various academic and socio-demographic variables. Introduction: Previous research has shown deficiencies in the training of researchers. Objective: To evaluate the perception of the research skills of psychology students belonging to the Research Field from the Behavioral, Cognitive Behavioral and Inter behavioral traditions, and compare it with their level of knowledge about the research process. Method: Eighty-two Psychology students participated in the first application and 70 in the second. A questionnaire was developed to self-assess the perception of research skills and general knowledge of methodology, statistics, and research report writing. Results: The students’ perception was that their investigative skills improved after completing an internship at a distance.
