La investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre la gestión por competencias y el desempeño laboral en la Municipalidad de Alto Amazonas – 2021. La investigación fue tipo básica, diseño no experimental, transversal y descriptivo correlacional, cuya población de 174 personas y la muestra fue de 102. La técnica fue la encuesta y el instrumento el cuestionario. Los resultados determinaron que: El nivel de gestión por competencias es medio 46 %, bajo 24 % y alto 30 %. El nivel de desempeño laboral es regular 51 %, bueno 25 % y malo 24 %.
