En el CIEFOR Puerto Almendra de la UNAP, Iquitos - Perú se evaluó el carbono almacenado y el dióxido de carbono (CO2) en plantaciones de Simarouba amara (Aubl) “marupa” y Cedrelinga cateniformis (Ducke) “tornillo” de >15 a 20 años, > 20 a 30 años y de >30 a 40 años de haber sido establecidas, con el objetivo de determinar el valor económico del secuestro del CO2. Fueron inventariadas todos los árboles de dichas especies, teniendo en cuenta la medición de estos con un diámetro no menor a los 10 cm. Empleando datos dasométricos provenientes de las plantaciones se realizó diversos cálculos para hallar el carbono almacenado, el secuestro de CO2 y el valor económico del secuestro del CO2.Los resultados muestran que ambas especies y en especial las de mayor edad presentan mayor capacidad de almacenamiento y valor económico. We carry out the study with the objective of determining the influence of the vines, shape and tree canopy position on the growth and CO2e of the high dry varillal forest, using three permanent sampling plots. In the 2005-2007 intercensal period, the average annual increase (AAI) in the DAP was 0,88 ± 0,99 cm/year; 0,0034 ± 0,0048 m2/year in basal area of the tree and 0.0462 ± 0.0703 m3 /year in volume. In the 2007-2018 period, the DBA AAi was 0,503 ± 0,473 cm / year, at basal area of the tree was 0,0024 ± 0,0032 m2 / year and in volume 0,0305 ± 0,0430 m3 / year.
