La presente investigación tiene el objetivo de determinar la eficacia del sistema de filtro de carbón activado a base de bagazo de la caña de azúcar para la mejora de las características organolépticas del agua en la poza de la Asociación Villa Hidropónica a nivel laboratorio. Este estudio fue de tipo aplicado con enfoque cuantitativo y diseño experimental; se tomaron dos muestras del agua de la poza antes y dos después de la aplicación del sistema de filtro con carbón activado a base del bagazo de la caña de azúcar. Los resultados fueron: (1) Se encontró que las características organolépticas de la muestra inicial M2 (turbidez: 10.4 NTU; color: 48 unid.) no respetaron los límites máximos permisibles y los estándares de calidad ambiental, calificándolo como no apto para el consumo humano. Oxidative stress has been associated with the development of many chronic and degenerative diseases in canines. The presence of antioxidants in food contributes to the reduction of the harmful effects of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitrogen (RNS). Polyphenols are a group of substances with high antioxidant activity and play an important role in the prevention of diseases. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between the composition, the antioxidant capacity and the polyphenol content of dog feeds from different commercial segments. Nineteen dog foods from four commercial segments: popular, economic, premium and super premium were randomly selected. Through a bromatological analysis the composition of each feed was evaluated.
