La presente tesis se desarrolló al noreste (NE) del valle de Cajamarca, a 79 Km de la ciudad de Cajamarca, georreferenciando el río agua colorada en Fraylecocha y Alpacoha, el cual pertenece al sistema hidrográfico del Océano Atlántico. La microcuenca hidrográfica tiene una orientación SW-NE, con un área aproximada de 2 112 Ha (21.12 Km2). El trabajo de investigación consistió en caracterizar las rocas carbonatadas y caracterización hidrogeológica de las formaciones geológicas que afloran a escala 1/25 000 realizando el análisis e interpretación de datos, determinación de pH y el caudal de los afluentes de la microcuenca.
