Peptic ulcer is one of the most common diseases, but, despite all the research done trying to discover its pathogenic mechanism, there is nothing definite yet. According to the data reported in the literature (7) concluded that up to 10% of the adult male population suffering from ulcer at any point in their life. It attacks mainly the sector of the population that develops most productive activity, so the economic impact is enormous. Because of this is that any new aspect of this disease that is studied is important, since all gathered results may someday lead to solving the problem of exciting gastroduodenal ulcer.

Reviewing 800 consecutive clinical histories of gastroenterological private practice, 130 cases consulted mainly for flatulence, gas sensation, abdominal dilatation, diarrhea tendency and intestinal noises. In this, group lactose and glucose tolerance test (LTT-GTT) were made, founding that 56% had a flat LTT. The importance of this deffect as the only source of symptoms or agravating agent associated to other pathology is emphasized. The relationship between lactose intolerance and emotional disturbances is pointed out.

En una revisi´ón de 800 historias y clínicas consecutivas de clientela privada y entre los cuales 74 (56%) tenían curva plana en el TTL, se hace un estudio de 130 casos que consultaron básicamente por flatulencia, sensación de gases, dilatación abdominal, flatos, tendencia diarreica, dolores difusos abdominales y ruidos hidroaéreos. Asimismo, se señala la importancia que tiene este defecto como única fuente de síntomas o como agravante al asociarse otra patología, debiendo ser reconocido con el objeto de hacer las restricciones dietéticas necesarias. Finalmente, se sindica la importancia que tiene el defecto en problemas de orden emocional.
