The work was carried out in the self-styled human settlement Puerto Salaverry located on the edge of the Malecón Tarapacá (first block between Jirón Ricardo Palma and Jirón Morona). Descriptive statistics were used with a sample of 32 heads of family. It is concluded: the contamination of the river by means of solid waste and human organic material, is the problem classified as critical (37.50%), the lack of neighborhood empathy among the residents (28.12%) produces a lack of organization within the human settlement . People say that there is contamination (84.37%) and it affects the locality (68.75%); and there is no type of company that generates more pollution. If it affects health (75%) and these are treated in health centers in the city or in the locality (37.5%), the environmental problem does not disturb working life.
