La presente investigación titulada: Nivel de autoestima y el tipo de familia de los estudiantes del segundo y tercer semestre de la Escuela Profesional de Enfermería de la Universidad Privada de Huancayo “Franklin Roosevelt” - Huancayo 2016 tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el nivel de autoestima y el tipo de familia. El método de investigación fue científico, el tipo de investigación básico, el nivel correlacional, diseño no experimental y de corte transversal La técnica que se utilizó fue la encuesta y se aplicó dos instrumentos, que fueron 2 cuestionarios (el primero fue la Escala de Autoestima Modificada de Stanley Coopersmith y el segundo fue la Escala de Evaluación: Tipo de Familia), con una muestra de 34 estudiantes de enfermería de la UPHFR; analizándose los datos. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of self-esteem and the type of family of students from a private university in central Peru. Methodology: This study is basic, of a correlational level, with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. Applying two questionnaires as instruments, it was carried out in the sample of 34 university students. Results: Regarding the levels of self-esteem in students, with high 44% and 68% have a functional family. Conclusions: Between the variables of level of self-esteem and type of family of the students, it is recognized that there is a significant relationship (p=0.001<0.05).

It was concluded that there is no significant relationship between professional training and performance in pre-professional practice (Internship) of students of the IX and X semesters of Nursing Career at the Private University of Huancayo Franklin Roosevelt.
