The book "Anatomy of a serie: on how to make and produce audiovisual fiction" addresses, as José Luis Moreno Maicas very correctly indicates in the prologue, this element of popular culture. A phenomenon, that of series, that has a great impact on our way of understanding the world, with fewer and fewer limitations. Nowadays, directors, audiovisual creators, societies and fictions, previously located on the margins of the mainstream or with little impact on the local market such as The Squid Game or The Paper House, obtain unexpected audience shares and contribute to accelerating socialization in the global village. We are, the authors state at the beginning of the work, in the golden age of fiction series.

This article presents the results of a comparative analysis of the Press coverage of natural disasters in the world by Spanish newspapers during the years 2009 and 2010 and some prominent indicators of social interest in the Internet. The main goals of this exploratory research are to find out if the classic news values shape altogether the agenda of the mainstream newspapers and the citizens and if the cahier de doléances in this specialized field are also in effect in the Internet age.

Disruptive change affecting information industry entails not only a loss of influence over society but also implies the proliferation of all kind of doubtful veracity contents that contribute to undermine the solidity of democratic institutions on an international scale and in the European Union in particular. The analysis of a project such as IJ4EU allows a better understanding of the singularities that collaborative investigative journalism adopts nowadays as a formula to increase efficiency in the flow of cross-border news content and the quality of journalism and as an initiative that transcends the concrete fact of the mere informative action and enters into the strengthening of democracy betting on the generation of deep changes in the methods of working and in the very structure of the system that must occur in the mid and long term.
