The present work of investigation is of descriptive type correlacional of transverse court(cut), the study was realized in teenagers of the Educational Institution N º 80010 "Ricardo Palma". Trujillo during December, 2006, with the purpose of determining the relation that exists between the type of family, the size of the family, family revenue and the family functionality and the level of knowledge on VIH. The sample was constituted by 111 students of secondary who expired with the criteria of incorporation. La investigación tuvo como objetivo general, determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre salud bucal y la prevalencia de enfermedades bucales: gingivitis, periodontitis y caries dental en estudiantes del 5º grado de secundaria de la I. E. Nº 80010 Ricardo Palma, Trujillo 2014, fue de tipo cuantitativo, correlacional, prospectivo y transversal, la muestra estuvo constituida por 72 escolares de una población de 114, los datos se obtuvieron mediante la técnica de la entrevista y observación clínica (examen clínico).
