Adolescence is a period characterized by physical, psychological and social changes, and it is during this period that the individual faces the development of his or her self-concept and is exposed to risk factors such as peer pressure to consume alcohol and tobacco. Peer pressure is understood as the resources used by peers to incite consumption, either directly or indirectly, so it is necessary for the adolescent to develop skills that give him/her the opportunity to resist such an offer. The aim of this paper is to describe resistance to peer pressure and the tools needed to resist peer pressure and not consume these substances, such as saying no, dealing with teasing and offenses when offered, expressing disagreement with consumption, among others.
