La presente tesis determina que la mineralización de sulfuros con valores de oro se encuentra relacionada a un sistema de fracturamiento zonal y a un control litológico estructural, dado por la presencia de rocas intrusivas o hipabísales del batolito de la costa. En la zona de estudio ocurren rocas ígneas como dioritas, granitos, monzonitas, andesitas y dacitas afectadas por patrones de fracturamiento de direcciones NO-SE, E-O y N-S, que permitieron la intrusión de diques andesíticos terciarios, en enjambre o macro sotck work en diferentes eventos magmáticos, inclusive algunos de ellos fueron reintruidos por otros diques aplíticos más jóvenes visibles en las laderas de los ríos Chancay, Chillón, Rímac, Lurín y Cañete (Lunahuaná). La presente tesis determina que la alteración en las rocas ornamentales por la acción del medio ambiente en el Centro Histórico de Lima, está relacionada a un sistema de agentes ambientales fisicoquímicos, bioquímicos, emanaciones de gases tóxicos del parque automotor, movimientos sísmicos y a la ergonomía, condiciones que degradan o alteran a las areniscas grises, mármoles, travertinos y tobas.
