Antecedentes: La detección y caracterización de patógenos en pacientes hospitalizados en unidades de cuidados críticos es de vital importancia para un correcto abordaje. En lo que respecta a levaduras del género de Candida spp., se requiere de una caracterización completa para evitar el desarrollo de una fungemia diseminada.
