In the present work we study the temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity of apatites. For this purpose, we propose a spectral conductivity model which takes into account the most relevant characteristics of the material analyzed. The electrical conductivity obtained from this model is in good agreement with experimental data measured by Laghzizil et. al [1]. Additionally, we also observe an increment of the electrical conductivity, in the range from 1000 to 1300℃) after including impurities in the system.

Evaluation results of the thermal performance of an experimental housing module (EHM) are presented with considerations for the level of insulation and the installation of two active heaters powered by solar energy. The EHM is located in a high Andean rural area in southern Peru (latitude: 13° 45'40" S, longitude: 73° 51'26" W, and elevation: 3700 masl), where in situ measurements were made. The design and implementation of the EHM was based on the application of bioclimatic strategies and techniques. For the thermal evaluation of the EHM, 43 temperature sensors connected to dataloggers were used. The results show that the temperature inside the EHM increased more than 12 °C with respect to the outside temperature in the critical hours of extreme cold and frost when the isolation and the proposed radiative systems are used. Finally, the thermal behavior of the EHM was simulated using ...

Using Moringa oleifera (Moringa oleifera Lam.) seed as a biocoagulant to enhance surface water's physical and chemical quality was the goal of this study. The methodology applied for the generation of experimental data was through the use of the Jar Test equipment, in a dose of 40 mg/L to 140 mg/L, then a fast mixing of 100 rpm for 1 minute and a slow mixing of 40 rpm for 10 minutes was performed, and sedimentation was left for 5 to 30 minutes, with 5 minutes intervals between each dose. The results show that an optimal biocoagulant dose of 100 mg/L at 20 minutes produced a turbidity reduction effectiveness of 97.06%. Hardness fell by 12% of its starting value, conductivity and total dissolved solids increased dramatically, and there was a 92.3% reduction in perceived colour, which showed that the use of Moringa seeds as a coagulant had a favourable effect on reducing the concentration o...

Ankistrodesmus falcatus strain UCP001 is a native oleaginous microalgae isolated from the Peruvian Amazon basin. In this study we sequenced, de novo assembled, and functionally annotated the complete mitochondrial genome of the native oleaginous microalgae Ankistrodesmus falcatus strain UCP001 (Accesion number MT701044). This mitogenome is a typical circular double stranded DNA molecule of 41,048 bp in total length with G + C content of 37.4%. The mitogenome contains 49 genes, including 18 protein coding genes, 5 ribosomal (rRNA) genes and 26 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes. A phylogenetic analysis of 18 microalgae species indicated that Ankistrodesmus falcatus strain UCP001 was closely related to Ourococcus multisporus and Raphidocelis subcapitata. The complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Ankistrodesmus falcatus strain UCP001 enriches genomic resources of oleaginous native microalgae fro...
