Existen escasos estudios para algunos patotipos que describan los factores asociados a infección sintomática y asintomática con E.coli diarreogénicas. Objetivo. Determinar los factores asociados a infección sintomática y asintomática por E.coli diarreogénicas en niños menores de un año en zonas periurbanas de Lima, Perú. Diseño y métodos. Se analizó retrospectivamente un estudio de vigilancia pasiva de diarrea de 1034 infantes peruanos. Resultados. En hogares hacinados, hubo mayor infección sintomática y asintomática por E.coli diarreogénicas (OR:1.5, p=0.007, IC al 95%: 1.12-2.11). El hacinamiento en la vivienda también aumentó el riesgo de infección por EPEC (OR:1.7, p=0.046, IC al 95%:1.01-2.79). The onset of the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus found the world unprepared. However, the reaction to it has been amazing. In just over a year since the virus was recognized, there are hundreds of vaccines in development, some of them already in use in many countries of the world. In this manuscript we review the current status of vaccine development, highlighting those that are under study to evaluate its efficacy or effectiveness. We also review the variants of interest and of concern of the SARS-CoV-2 virus detected until now and what is known about the efficacy of the vaccines against them.
