The following geomorphologic study about thy micro-basin of the «Pastoruri» glacier, covers the most important characteristics on the configuration of relief, as essential aspects of the morfo-dynamic and morpho-genetic processes that work in its glacial and periglacial model. This research develops investigation assignments in order to accomplish with the goal of moving forward in the knowledge of the glacial processes that effects our planet, its relationship with the weather changing and its effects in the availability of hydro resources. It deals with a

Within the extraordinary variety of landscapes of the Peruvian geography, there are areas under climatic conditions characterized by a marked seasonality of rainfall, typical of regions called semiarid, where we found a dry season centered on winter, followed by a summer rainy season. This distribution of the dry pattern rainfall in winter, determines a strong constraint on the development of plant life mainly, which is reduced in the water extreme deficit to a xerophytic vegetation typical of dry regions, while in areas where the coverage steppe protective vegetation is scarce to null, the field is more exposed to the actions of the rain erosion and surface runoff that is the origin of the processes that generate the phenomena torrential, llocllas or llapanas. Under these climatic conditions, to which must be added the human actions that favor the erosive action of rain and the “arroy...

In Peru, the occurrence of catastrophic events causes irreparable loss of human lives and extensive material damage. These effects are increasing in scope and intensity in recent years, just as the demands increase at almost all scientific disciplines linked to land preparation tasks, demanding proposals for preventive actions or mitigation. This requirement gets extended particularly to geomorphology. In Peru, the standpoint linked to the positions aligned with the idealist, generalizing and deductivist lines of the classic Davisian geomorphology approach, is being now gradually replaced by the development of a systemic, morphoclimatic and inclusive approach. The result is that starting from direct observation of the land; this approach has contributed to the solution of concrete problems. This article discusses some experiences in the use, management and land occupation by our ancient ...

In the summer of 2017 the north and central coast of Peru, endured rains as they had not been registered for many years, the departments of the north and center of the country were the most affected. In Lima, 80% of the identified streams were activated, causing mudslides and floods that affected the towns of Chosica, Huachipa, Carapongo, Cajamarquilla, Santa Eulalia, Campoy, among others, all located in the Rímac river basin. The occurrence of this phenomenon has been considered atypical by its magnitude and its improvised occurrence, for which the Multisectorial Committee in charge of the study of this phenomenon (ENFEN) called it «El Niño Costero». This natural phenomenon generated disasters such as the destruction of homes, land roads, bridges, schools and other infrastructure, especially in towns located in vulnerable areas. In this context, this research aims to explain the cha...
