Determinar la correlación entre la depuración de creatinina estimada con la fórmula de Cockcroft-Gault y la medida en orina de 24h en pacientes con Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2. MATERIALES Y MÉTODO: El presente es un estudio retrospectivo, correlacional en el cual se incluyeron 90 historias clínicas de pacientes con DM tipo 2 atendidos en el consultorio de Endocrinología del HBT entre agosto del 2005 y agosto del 2007. La comparación entre la depuración de creatinina en orina de 24 horas y la estimada con la fórmula de Cockcroft-Gault se realizó mediante el coeficiente de correlación de Pearson. RESULTADOS: La depuración promedio de creatinina en orina de 24h fue 79.8 ml/min. y la depuración promedio obtenida con la fórmula de Cockcroft–Gault fue 69.04 ml/min.
