In this paper we analyze contextual and stylistically a set of finely decorated gourds, from the collection of gourds Huallamarca recovered in excavations directed by Dr. Jiménez Borja at huaca Pan de Azúcar in 1958. The gourds have studied simple and naturalistic images that refer to a secular field, agricultural and coastal. The large number of decorated gourds in a context of elite tombs, makes us think of a function, which would go beyond the strictly utilitarian. Piles of pumpkins decorated as large plates, carefully stored inside packages would imply at least that the holder would have a household could face a public activity. Reciprocity as a social, political and economic, would be supported in funerary context quality and new symbols of power that characterize the large coastal chiefs and gentlemen of the initial part of the Late Intermediate Period of the Central Coast.

This study aimed to characterize some of the ingredients typical of the ceramic phase Ichma Beginner, it is used exclusively for qualifying order stylistic parameters, to establish categories confrontations and contrasts. We believe that this is even necessary to create appropriate methodological tools to achieve results of greater explanatory scope and accuracy. This study discusses the entries are made in the archaeological literature about the presence of a decorated material on the basis of incisions and points. For it is analyzed, it classified and characterized a small collection of ceramic fragments from Huallamarca. This material is inserted into a larger collection showing stylistic, chronological and cultural coherence. This allowed us to identify recurrences and particularities and define its chronological position. So Hualla paragraph punching style, is assigned to the first part of the Late Intermediate Period (PIT 1-3). It also presents a particularity of the cultural component of this society, reflected in a kind of opposition and complements its cultural manifestations.
